Meg Ryan, Director
Meg Ryan assumed her position as the director of the Center of Excellence in July, 2013. Meg brings more than two decades of experience in community colleges, primarily teaching marketing communication, retailing, and human relations. She has worked extensively on international educational partnerships in South Africa, Namibia, and China. Meg's greatest strengths are her creativity, drive, and leadership. She thrives on challenges, particularly those that expand the opportunities for students to launch their careers.
Meg is a member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, the World Trade Center of Seattle, the World Trade Center of Tacoma, the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, the Washington Council for International Trade, and the African Chamber of Commerce of the Pacific Northwest.
Meg holds a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in Higher Education from the University of Washington, Seattle. She also holds a certificate in international trade and logistics from the Port of Seattle. Meg recently co-authored an article entitled "Transforming International Education through Institutional Capacity Building," published in New Directions for Community Colleges in spring 2013.
Away from work, Meg enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, entertaining, and traveling.
